 One of the great things about being in the entertainment business is the people you meet.
While at the Bali-Hai, we met a man who lived in Fellsmere. He was really big into hunting and fishing. I don’t remember the exact circumstance of how he happened to be at this particular place in Sebastian, maybe he was a care-taker for the owners, or something. He decided to invite a few of his friends and family to have a weekend of hunting and a big cook-out.
We brought some of our equipment, our daughter, my parents and I think my brothers may have come along too. We all spent the night in this nice large house, playing music, telling stories and having a great time.
Since the shortest route to the house was from Roseland Road, we used a boat to transport everyone to the house.
The guys got up early and went hunting. Larry has always been an avid hunter and fisherman, so he was in his glory. I don’t remember if they actually killed anything that day, or whether something in the freezer became available.
It was a great time, with a wagon ride for the kids, good food, great friends and memories that would last forever.
We have had many outings with “Joe” and many other stories of camping and get-togethers.
